LSL Convention is a event for enjoying script more and more!

For people who:

"What is a script anyway?"

"What peoples these scripters are?"

"I hardly mastered basic sample scripts, and what should I do next?"

"Want to help someone who trouble in script."

"Want to share knowledge, informations with other scripters."

Each one has each way to deal with script. We want to connect each others, support making win-win relations. We want to offer such place and chances with LSL Convention.

How to enjoy LSL Convention

*I want to know what script can do or not.

-> We display many sample scripts as showcase. Most of them you can freely touch and try.

*Want to start learning script.

-> We will held short learing course for learning script and will settled the place you can learn by your self. You can also ask questions to elder scripters at the cafe corner.

*Want to meet scripters.

-> You can meet creators of each exhibits. We will provide such place and shcedules.

*Want everyone to know my works.

-> Join us now!

*I have some problems in my scripts.

-> Bring it up to the cafe. Maybe some others will give you a ideas, hints to solve it.

*Want to talk about scripts.

-> Let's talk neat technique, new functions, bugs, etc!

*Want to brush up my skill.

-> To see and think about others works may help you to skill up. And We will held some session talk tables. Let's talk about interesting themes.

So what's plans do you have?

We held this convention at last year 2007 too. With last years expriences, we made some changes this year's plan.

Exhibition zone

You'll find many scripter's works at this zone. We'll have main site (at "New Script") and other satellites. We will do provide HUD system and web site for easy visit.

There were sixty exhibits in total.

Demonstration zone

The place for demonstrate scripts by it's creator as he/her self. You can ask details, keypoints, difficult points, directly.

Five creators demonstrated their itmes, scripts, in front of around twenty audiences. The demonstrations were well prepared, and much organized than we expected.

Communication zone

The cafe place for chat. If you need closed space for detailed speak, you can have it too.

LSL function quest

The system for self learning. You can learn from basic to middle range of LSL.

Learners wear a HUD and follow the instractions to complete the quest. In the quest, learners become a ninja. They learn basics at the ninja tower, and visit a village to help people there. By solving several problems people have, they learn several functions, events, howto impliment them to sctipts.

Themed sessions

Digging voodoo magics details, Interesting themes, techincal talk!

We held fourteen sessions; seven themes, two sessions for each. The themes are the followings.

• "Script's load, and stereotypical implimentations"
• "It's actually possible. Think outside the box"
• "Not well known, but useful functions or events"
• "Almost there, need a little bit more exercise"
• "Test, user support"
• "Teaching LSL and being taught LSL"
• "Sharing tips, know-how"

Chat logs are available, but only in Japanese.

Non-themed sessions

Let's talk about latest scripts talk, such as Mono, 1.24 and 1.25 server codes, poking test scripts, share knowledges.

Script lesson for newbies

Basic class lessons for script newbies. Will do continue holding this lessons constantly after LSL Convention over.

The lecture consists of six lessons. Instructor give a lecture by using slides and the voice-chat. During the lessons, learners actually write, or modify, and run sctipts.

Babbage Linden speach session

24th Oct 2008, Babbage Linden visited "New Script" and gave a speach. The session was mostly about "mono". Chat log is available here.
